Committee Charter

Responsibilities:
Here to coordinate efforts of the homeowner and the review committee to maintain high standards of architectural integrity in the neighborhood to enhance property value.
Goals of the Committee:
  1. Provide a core group to review and approve or deny modification requests
  2. Make the standards clear and uniform for all homeowners.
  3. Clarify and streamline the approval process
  4. Add a FAQ section to this page
  5. Have events to encourage and inform homeowners on improving their homes
Why have an Architecture Design and Review Committee?  In Covenants Article 7.3.b it says that “No exterior esthetic change” can be made without first obtaining prior written approval of developer or its designee (e.g. HOA, Architecture and Design Review Committee or our Management Company).  You can read the architectural restrictions/standards for yourself in the covenants posted on this website. Look under “HOA Resources” and click on the title “Seven Lakes Covenants and Restrictions” to review or download the document. The majority of these guidelines are under Article 7 and there are some under Article 11.1.

Our Seven Lakes community will have 285 homes when all construction is completed; therefore, the need for approvals and oversight is also growing.

ADRC Responsibilities:
  1. Maintaining an approval process assuring that architectural standards are met and uniformly applied in a timely manner
  2. Help answer questions from homeowners about the standards and the process.
  3. Reviewing standards for proposed exterior esthetic changes to see if updates are required
  4. Preserving property values by maintaining the Craftsman style of the community while offering a sense of individuality to update each home over time.
What the Architecture Design and Review Committee is not:
  1. A design resource to design esthetic changes for you
  2. Here to recommend or hire contractors
  3. Here to collect or provide the information required to complete a homeowner’s modification request with the management company or fill it out for you
  4. Going to approve requests overnight. (Get approval before you schedule a contractor to proceed with changes to your home or property)
What the Architecture Design and Review Committee is:
  1. Here to help homeowners achieve their goals, within the acceptable standards, allowing your home to be uniquely yours.
  2. Here to help you with the approval process and answer questions.
